Senior Programs
The City of Ashland Senior Program Center is located in Hunter Park on Holmes Avenue and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. The Senior Program provides a support system to the older residents of Ashland. This enables them to live more independently and to continue as contributing members of the community. The Program is funded by the general fund, by grants administered through the Rogue Valley Council of Governments and by donations from civic organizations and by user contributions. A number of services designed specifically for seniors are offered:
Health Services, which includes preventative health care clinics, provided by medical professionals as well as pressure screening, flu immunization and foot care.
Utility Discounts available to Ashland residents over the age of 65 who qualify as low income. They receive a 20% to 30% discount on City utilities (water, wastewater, and electric).
Trash Collection discounts are offered to Ashland residents over the age of 65 and who meet income qualifications Call the Senior Center for more information.
Noon Meals are provided by the local community non-profit Access Loaves and Fishes. The meals are served at the Senior Center at noon Monday through Friday.
Weekly events are held which include dancing classes, movies, writing groups, computer learning and more.
