One of the requirements of our Phase II program is that Ashland must mark all 3,000+ public storm drain inlets with warnings that they drain into streams and not to a treatment plant. In the past some inlets were marked with paint stencils, but this paint wears off quickly. The city has decided to purchase and install permanent stainless steel markers embossed with the slogan “No Dumping – Drains to Stream”. Over the next 2 years the city will work with neighborhood volunteer groups to install the markers.
