The New NMP Nature Play Area

Celebration at Nature Play

Nature Play AreaJoin us for a celebration on Wednesday, May 11, 3 p.m. Come celebrate the Nature Play Area and community donors that made it possible! Let's say a big THANK YOU by playing together. Fun activities are planned for the whole family.

This playground encourages creative, adventurous play while protecting the wildlife habitat in the rest of the park.  Kids can safely enjoy the climbing, water and sand play, and construction with loose parts.  The play area also contains ADA accessible pathways and ample seating for families.

Still to come: Shelter building materials and more loose parts.  (The willow tunnel will grow in slowly!)

Water PumpCommunity donations are still welcome and will be applied to the project's ongoing maintenance.  Donors will be acknowledged with a memorial brick at the play area's entrance.
Donate Today!

We will also need volunteers to become Nature Play Area Hosts.  Help us monitor and maintain a safe space for kids of all ages.  This position would include light weeding, sweeping, resetting the shelter building area and returning Loose Parts to their shelves.
Volunteer with Us!

This project was only possible through immense community support!  Over the last four years, this community mobilized $217,000 in support through the participation of community members, service clubs, private grants, public granting agencies, in-kind donations, local businesses, and numerous skilled volunteers. In the end, the playground construction came in $800 under budget.  WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!
