The Japanese Garden in Lithia Park will be closed for maintenance Apr 2-15

The Ashland Japanese Garden will be closing for a two-week period starting on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, for essential Koi pond maintenance. The garden will reopen as soon as work concludes, with a planned reopening date of Monday, April 15, 2024.

Ashland Parks and Recreation apologizes for the unfortunate timing of the closure coinciding with the arrival of spring in the garden. It is necessary to complete the work before warm weather increases algae growth and impacts the health of the Koi. Thank you for your patience with this work which will lead to healthier Koi, and a clearer pond.
