Katrina Brown to Serve as Interim City Attorney Following the Retirement of David Lohman
Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2021

At the Regular Business Meeting on June 15, 2021, the Ashland City Council finalized arrangements with Katrina Brown to serve as Interim City Attorney following David Lohman’s announcement of his plan to retire on July 1, 2021.  Lohman has served as City Attorney in Ashland for ten years and leaves large shoes to fill.  Katrina has been working closely with Dave as the Assistant City Attorney since September of 2017, and she is well versed in the legal issues in Ashland and is ready to start her interim post on July 2, 2021.

During his tenure with the City of Ashland, Dave interacted and supported the activities in every City Department, including Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission, making his knowledge in City Government hard to replace.  While it is hard to lose a talented member of the Executive Team, the City Council and staff are excited for Dave to begin a new chapter and wish him a long and happy retirement.

In his resignation letter, Dave remarked, “I have had the rare good fortune to be able to spend ten years working to help make my hometown even better.  And I feel profoundly lucky to have been able to work with and for some truly exceptional public servants.”  The Executive Team that Dave has been an integral part of for ten years considers him a truly exceptional public servant who will be missed.
