Rogue Valley Bird Day is returning to the North Mountain Park Nature Center on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 8 a.m. to Noon. This FREE, all-ages event is a local celebration of World Migratory Bird Day, a global campaign to raise awareness about migratory birds and international conservation efforts.
Rogue Valley Bird Day, held every May, provides visitors with an opportunity to get outside and learn about the birds they might see in their own backyards. This year, we explore the theme of water and aquatic habitats. North Mountain Park is a birding hotspot that features streams, ponds and seasonal wetlands where you can see and hear a rich variety of birds. Activities will include games and crafts for kids, a bird calling exhibition, contests, prizes and a live bird exhibit hosted by Wildlife Images.
Bird walks, hosted by expert birders from the Rogue Valley Audubon Society, will leave regularly from the Nature Center pavilion between 8:15-11 a.m. Visitors with limited mobility can enjoy watching birds at the feeders near the pavilion or stroll along our ADA path to benches and resting points.
The event will also include bird walks for Spanish-speakers. Check the event website for an updated schedule of walks and activities at
RogueValleyBirdDay.net.
