Ashland Parks and Recreation will host a celebration of Children’s Day at Ashland Japanese Garden from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
This free event honors “Kodomo no Hi”, a Japanese holiday dedicated to celebrating children’s happiness and individuality. Discover the rich traditions of this holiday, including the raising of ‘koinobori’ windsocks symbolizing strength and growth. Kids can enjoy interactive stations with traditional Japanese toys, cultural activities, and koi feeding.
The Ashland Japanese Garden is located in historic Lithia Park up from the Butler Memorial Bandshell on Winburn Way across from the Pickleball Courts. Entry and participation in the event in the Ashland Japanese Garden are free, but your support helps to maintain the garden, allowing it to expand and grow. Donations may be made online or at the garden.
Please visit the Ashland Japanese Garden website,
AshlandJapaneseGarden.org, to donate or for more information on the garden. The website includes the history of the garden, information about the generous donations that made this authentic Japanese Garden possible, the designer and more.
