Helicopter Operations Set to Begin Thursday, April 18th

After a delay for needed repairs on a log loader, Timberline Helicopters will begin work on the Ashland Forestland Climate Change Adaptation Project on Thursday, April 18th. The helicopter will work 7 days a week, starting above Walker Avenue in Siskiyou Mountain Park and after approximately one week, move to the top of Granite Street and work in the lower Ashland Watershed for approximately two weeks. This project is in response to unprecedented die-off in our local forests and will reduce fire risk and help forests adapt to our changing climate.

Citizens and visitors can expect to see and hear the helicopter working, starting at 7:00AM to follow the City's noise ordinance, and typically finishing each day around 6:00PM. Log trucks will be using City streets and the haul routes can be found HERE. Please drive slowly and cautiously around trucks.

For information on trail closures see the TRAILS MAP. Project updates are posted HERE
